The Last Game Tips
The Last Game: What You Need to Know Before Your First Run
The Last Game is a minimalist roguelite dungeon crawler. Think fast combat, procedurally generated floors, and a whole lot of stuff trying to kill you. The devs took inspiration from The Binding of Isaac’s weird dungeon vibes and Tiny Rogues’ snappy combat, then cranked up the randomness. No two runs are the same. No fixed攻略 (guides) will save you. You just have to play smart.
Here’s the quick breakdown for anyone jumping in blind.
Core Loop – Simple but Unforgiving
You move, you dash, you attack, you loot. That’s it. But the execution? That’s where most players trip up. Every room can throw traps, charging enemies, or bullet-hell patterns at you. Touch a spike trap? You take damage. A monster rams into you? Same deal. The game doesn't give you invincibility frames forever, so positioning matters way more than you think.
Loot Randomly, Build Strategically
There are over 90 unique items in the pool. Shields, keys, boots, weapons, weird trinkets. You collect them as you clear rooms. The key is synergy. A single strong item is nice. Two items that work together? That’s how you break the game. For example, a ricochet effect plus a range boost lets you clear rooms from across the map. But some combos are trash – so don't be afraid to leave items on the floor.
Watch the Enemy Patterns, Not Just Your Health Bar
Early enemies lunge straight at you. Later ones shoot spreads, teleport, or summon adds. You need to dodge first, attack second. The game rewards patience. One tip that actually works: keep your eyes on your character, not the enemy. Bullet-hell rule #1 – you can’t dodge what you don’t see coming toward yourself.
Boss Fights – Save Your Good Stuff
Mid-floor bosses and the final boss hit hard and have multiple phases. Don’t waste your rare consumables (like healing potions or damage buffs) on normal mobs. Save them for these fights. Also, learn the boss tells. Every attack has a wind-up. Once you see it, you dash. Not before, not after.
Unlockable Characters Change Everything
There are 8 unlockable characters (plus more in updates). Each has a unique skill. Some are tanky, some are fast, some have weird gimmicks. If you keep dying on the first few floors, try a different character. It’s not always about “getting good” – sometimes your playstyle just needs a different toolkit.
Co-op Makes It Easier (and More Fun)
Local co-op supports up to 4 players. Enemies get tougher, but having friends to share aggro and combo abilities makes the chaos manageable. Plus, reviving each other is a thing. So if you’re stuck, grab a buddy.
Final word: expect to die. A lot. That’s the point. Each run teaches you something – enemy patterns, item combos, trap placements. No guide can replace that. Now go give it a shot.
