Tap “Ready” first, then watch the pitch. When the ball is right in the middle of your circle, hit “Swing” and adjust the direction a little. You can do push hits, pull hits, grounders, or fly balls—just go with where the ball lands. Oh, and there’s this thing called “plate discipline” (they call it select ball power in the game) that makes your aim way better. The higher that stat, the more accurate your hits will be, trust me.

Pitching isn’t as hard as it looks, especially if you’re lazy like me. If your pitcher has low control (the non-recruited ones usually do), just throw straight down the middle when there’s no one on base and less than 2 strikes. Their bad control will make the ball drift a little, and batters often hit fouls or fly balls—saves you from messing with the pointer too much. And when there are 2 outs and no one on base? Just let the game pitch for you. Total time-saver.

Now, player stats and leveling up—don’t overcomplicate it. For every player, pump their speed up to around 50, add a few points to agility, and that’s it for those two. Stealing second base will be a breeze (I almost never fail). The rest? Put most points into power, then a little into hitting. Forget stealing third or home—even my fast players (speed 60+) can’t pull that off. Waste of points.

Quick tip for when you’re in trouble: if there’s someone on third base and 0 or 1 outs, throw a few bad balls that just graze the strike zone. Batters are less likely to hit those, and you might pick up a strike. Even if you don’t, batters swing less when they’re ahead in the count, so you can throw good balls and get a strikeout to get out of the jam.

One last thing—don’t sleep on the custom stuff. You can change your team name, logo, uniforms, even edit your players’ looks and gear. It’s not necessary to win, but it makes the game way more fun.
