Not Exactly A Hero Official Introduction
Sick and tired of your usual typical superhero plots full of clichés? Wonder
what it's like to live as an everyday citizen in a superhero universe? Play 'Not
Exactly A Hero: Visual Novel, Story-driven Adventure Game' and find out!
"Not Exactly A Hero"
Riley, the game's player character, is a substitute agent with the purpose of supporting a superhero's everyday activities. But essentially, Riley is an everyday citizen. Yes - just like you and me.
"Relationship matters"
In the game, you will go through numerous encounters with all kinds of characters in between cases:
Your boss, Chief, who's constantly under stress from low budget issues;
Your team's new recruit, Chris, who tries to scratch your ego all the time;
An 'Oobur' driver with a knack for stirring up other people's minds;
A kebab truck guy with a weird and wonky personality...
You may befriend some of them. Some might turn their backs on you. It's all up to you and the choices you make.
"Every playthrough is like playing a new game"
As the plot unravels, there will be a LOT of decisions you have to make.
Each and every one of those choices will build up as you proceed, and will ultimately decide the final outcome.
This game is packed with 3 starting points, 4 side character routes, 9 different endings and a bonus route for completionists.
You are the protagonist. Everything is up to your choice.

Not Exactly A Hero Tips
Not Exactly A Hero (Android): Review & No-BS Newbie Guide
Look, I’m not gonna sugarcoat it—most superhero games are the same: big powers, bigger explosions, zero heart. Not Exactly A Hero flips that script hard. You’re Riley, a regular joe stuck in a superhero world, and you experience everything through chat boxes. Sounds dumb? Trust me, it’s one of the most fun casual visual novels I’ve played on Android lately.
Let’s start with the basics for newbies—this game’s controls are so simple, even your grandma could play it. Here’s how to jump in fast:
1. Open the game, tap the blank spot on the first screen to keep going (don’t overthink it, just tap anywhere empty).
2. Pick a chapter—no locked garbage upfront, just dive right in.
3. While playing, you can check background story, character bios, your achievements, and tasks whenever you want. Tap the subtitle button to keep the convo moving—no fancy buttons, no confusing menus.
Now, the real meat: the choices. This ain’t no linear snooze-fest—there are 7 main character routes and 9 total endings, which means your calls actually change the story. Completionists, heads up: this one’s gonna keep you busy, especially with the 32 achievements and 48 collectible art pieces (shoutout to the Night Office artist—those illustrations slap).
Pro tip for unlocking endings fast: Use save/load (SL) for every route. You’ll save hours, trust me. The Vendor route is the worst—both A and B endings kill Yao Guang (yeah, you read that right), so you gotta replay it twice just to get both. To unlock Vendor route? Support the food cart guy, especially when he fights with Demi. Pick “Got it” to survive, “Something’s off” to die too—easy.
For the other big routes: Demi, Chris, Boss—stick to their choices, keep MTP high for A endings (good ones), low for B endings (bad ones). Chris’s route has a weird quirk: if you mention Demi or Boss too much, you’ll jump to their routes—so stay focused if you wanna finish Chris’s story.
The best part? It’s light, it’s funny, and the Messenger-style叙事 is actually unique. It’s not perfect—some choices feel too obvious—but it’s a solid pick if you wanna kill time with a story that doesn’t take itself too seriously. No flashy battles, no complicated strategies, just good vibes and choices that matter.
Final Verdict: If you’re into choice-heavy visual novels that are casual but fun, this is a must-try. It’s short enough to play on the go, has enough replay value for completionists, and it’s way better than most of the generic superhero stuff on Android.
