So you just downloaded CSR 2, huh? You’re probably staring at a garage with one slow car and a bunch of menus that don’t make much sense yet. Don’t sweat it. This game looks flashy—and it is—but underneath all that gloss is a pretty straightforward grind. Here’s the quick and dirty on how to get moving without screwing yourself over in the first hour.

Don’t Sleep on Your Crew

Look, I get it. Joining a crew of strangers feels like a chore. But in CSR 2, RP (Respect Points) is literally everything. You need it to progress the story and unlock the good stuff. If you try to go it alone, you’re basically running a marathon with your shoes tied together.

The best move? Find a crew that actually plays. Even a mediocre crew gives you milestone rewards you can’t get solo. If you’re really struggling to get into a top one (they usually want high RP to join), just make your own for now. It’s better than nothing.

Stop Spending Gold on Cars. Seriously.

I know that shiny Ferrari in Tier 5 looks tempting, but using your gold to buy a car is a trap. Gold is way too hard to come by later on. Unless you’re planning to drop real cash on this game, save your gold for fuel.

I’m not kidding. Running out of gas mid-streak is the most annoying thing in the world, and spending gold to refill the tank is actually the most efficient use of the premium currency. Cars? Buy those with cash.

The Best “Starter” Rides

You don’t need to min-max your garage on day one, but you also don’t want to waste cash on lemons. Here’s the shortlist to look out for early on:

Tier 1: The Golf GTI or Mustang Boss 302. The Golf is light and grips like crazy once you upgrade it. The Mustang is heavier but accelerates faster out of the gate. You really can’t go wrong with either.

Tier 2: Grab the BMW M235i Coupe. You can buy it with regular cash, and once it’s tuned, it punches way above its weight class. It’s a workhorse.

Tier 3: The BMW M4 is the smart pick here. Is it the absolute fastest in the tier? Nah, but you can buy and upgrade it with credits, not gold. The Ferrari California is technically better, but finding parts for it is a pain unless you get lucky with imports.

How to Tune Like You Know What You’re Doing

Tuning looks intimidating, but it’s just a slider game. The three things you care about are NOS, Tires, and Transmission (Final Drive) . Here’s the order of operations:

Upgrade in this order first: NOS, then Tires, then Transmission. You want these three unlocked so you can actually adjust them.

Follow the EVO points. When you’re sliding the bars in the tuning menu, look at the blue number at the top. You want that number as high as possible. Generally, you’ll max out Tire Pressure first (grip is king in drag racing), then tweak the Final Drive to balance acceleration vs. top speed.

Don’t blow your load on low-tier cars. Fully upgrading a Tier 1 car is a waste of cash. Save the heavy spending for Tier 3 and up. Those are the cars you’ll actually use long-term.

Grab Your Keys Every Day

This is the easiest tip to follow. CSR 2 has a “gacha” system—crates you open with Bronze, Silver, and Gold keys. You get these for free just by logging in and doing the daily goals.

Log in daily: You’ll rack up a stash of keys just by showing up.

Live races: Even if you lose a few, winning live races is a steady source of keys.

Don’t sleep on this. The rare parts and cars you pull from crates are what separate the “slow” garage from the “fast” garage.

Just focus on getting through the initial tiers, hoard your gold for gas, and join a crew. The rest of the game—the live races, the flashy hypercars—will come once you’ve got that foundation locked down.
