It offers customizable controls, controller support, and no ads or microtransactions. Great for action and roguelike fans.

Death is not the end.

Play as a failed alchemic experiment and explore the sprawling, ever-changing castle to find out what happened on this gloomy island…!

That is, assuming you’re able to fight your way past its keepers.

Dead Cells is a roguevania action platformer that will require you to master frantic 2D combat with a wide variety of weapons and skills against merciless minions and boss.

Kill. Die. Learn. Repeat.

First available on PC and consoles, the indie hit Dead Cells is now slaying foes on mobile!

Main Features

• Roguevania: The progressive exploration of an interconnected world, with the replayability of a rogue-lite and the adrenaline pumping threat of permadeath

• Frantic and Dynamic 2D Action: Learn your enemies’ patterns to stay alive, or prepare to be sent back to your cell before you can say “baguette”

• Nonlinear Progression: Unlock new levels with every death, opt for the path that suits your current build, your playstyle or just your mood.

Surely, the ramparts can’t be as bad the sewers, right?

• Play at your own pace: Will you explore every nook and cranny of the castle, or rush to the end?

Dead Cells Tips

Dead Cells Android Beginner Guide: Runes & Blueprints You Can’t Miss

Dead Cells is that iconic RogueVania on Android that mixes roguelite permadeath with Castlevania-style action, and if you’re new? You’re gonna get stuck fast. The #1 mistake new players make? Skipping runes. They’re not optional—you need ’em to unlock new areas, secret spots, and even progress. Throw in blueprints for better gear, and you’ve got the formula to stop dying every 10 minutes. Let’s break this down, no fluff.

First, a non-negotiable tip: master parrying early. Elites (the tough enemies that drop runes) hit hard, and parrying’s your best bet—don’t greed for hits, time those blocks right. Trust me, it’ll save you hours of frustration.

Let’s talk blueprints first ’cause they’re easy to miss, and good gear makes rune hunts way easier. No monster drops here—just quick, guaranteed finds: 1. Swift Bow: Spawn in Prisoners’ Quarters, go left, jump twice, then roll into the secret wall. Boom, blueprint’s yours. 2. Assault Shield: Beat Prisoners’ Quarters in under 2 minutes—unlocks the timed door, and the shield’s inside. 3. Explosive Crossbow: In Promenade of the Condemned, grab 3 Gardener Keys (high platform, under a floor, near the rose pot—stomp 3 times) to open the middle locked building.

Now runes—forget the order the game hints at, start with the ones that unlock the most areas fast. Spider Rune’s a game-changer: Head from Toxic Sewers to Old Sewers, take down Conjunctivius in Corrupted Prison, then hit Sleeping Sanctuary. On the right, fight the elite Ballista Mage (his blue orbs are easy to dodge/parry)—beat him, and you can climb walls for secrets.

Next, Shepherd Rune. You’ll need the Teleport Rune first (we’ll get to that), then go from Promenade of the Condemned to Ossuary. Look for the open gate—another elite Slasher’s inside (same fight, but watch for traps!). Beat him, and you can smash marked floors by dropping on ’em—great for hidden loot.

Teleport Rune’s next. Grab the Vine Rune first (head to Promenade of the Condemned, go right to the yellow door, beat the elite Undead Archer—dodge his double arrows, dish out damage), then go from Prisoners’ Quarters to Toxic Sewers. Talk to the locked-up NPC, find him again, drop from the skull banner to fight the elite Slasher (he swings twice—parry or dodge back!). Win, and you can use teleport pillars.

Vine Rune’s the basics, but don’t sleep on it—touch green bubbles to grow vines and climb new areas. You’ll need it for the Teleport Rune, so grab it early if you haven’t already.

Wrap-up: New to Dead Cells? Prioritize runes (Spider first, trust me), grab those easy blueprints, and practice parrying. Don’t rush—explore every nook (roll into walls, climb vines) for extra gear. This game’s tough, but nail these tips, and you’ll stop dying and start progressing in no time.
