Ignore the fancy jargon—this guide’s gonna break down everything you need to crush the early game, from character setup to combat hacks, no fluff included. Whether you’re a diehard Tokyo Ghoul fan or just here for the strategy, these tips will keep you from face-planting in your first few battles.
First off, stop sleeping on Story Mode. It’s not just for reliving the anime—this is your bread and butter for leveling up fast and grabbing free resources. Skip the cutscenes if you want (no judgment), but grind every chapter you can. It drops tons of EXP for your account, character leveling materials, and gems—all stuff you’ll need to build a strong team. Plus, progressing through Story Mode unlocks auto-battle and 2X speed, which will save you hours of mindless grinding later on. Trust me, you’ll thank me when you’re not clicking through every single turn.
Combat’s turn-based and card-focused, but here’s the tea: CP (Combat Power) is king. Your team’s total CP vs. the enemy’s decides who goes first, so prioritize boosting that above all else. You can do it manually or let the game auto-merge, but manual’s better if you wanna time it right for big damage. CCG (like Amon) are ranged crowd controllers, so focus on agility and precision. Rarity matters too: LR is the top tier, but good luck—pull rates are brutal. Rerolling’s a solid move for new players if you wanna start with a strong LR, but even a solid SR team can carry you early if you upgrade ’em right. Duplicates let you star-up characters, so don’t discard extra pulls.
Don’t sleep on events and daily quests. Daily quests reset every day and give easy rewards—do ’em first thing. Events are even better: login rewards, CP rush, level challenges—all stuff that rewards you for doing what you’re already gonna do. Some events even give free LR characters, so you don’t gotta spend a dime to get strong. Also, hit up Material Instances in Combat Mode for gold and promotion crystals—you’ll need these to upgrade characters nonstop.
Final tip: Keep it simple. You don’t need a perfect team day one. Focus on upgrading 1-2 damage dealers, a tank, and a support, boost your CP, grind Story Mode, and collect free rewards.
