Editor's Review
Forget saving the world from the virus—now you have to rebuild it after everything fell apart. After Inc. puts you in charge of a survivor settlement, and every choice stings. Turn dogs into food or keep them as pets? Let kids starve or take the risk? I’ve built farms, cleared zombie nests, and expanded across the UK map. No pay-to-win nonsense.

After Inc Tips
Ndemic Creations made a name for itself with iconic strategy sims, and After Inc. keeps that solid track record going. This post-apocalyptic settlement builder trades pandemic chaos for zombie-infested survival, tasking players with rebuilding human civilization from absolute zero. It’s way deeper than your average mobile sim, with dynamic events, faction mechanics, and strict survival rules that catch new players off guard super fast. I’ve put in plenty of hours figuring out its quirks, so these beginner tips will save you from unnecessary restarts and messy settlement fails.
New players usually rush expansion and mess up core resource balance first. These 3 practical tips will help you build a stable base and progress steadily from your very first run.
1. Avoid overpopulating early-game settlements. This is the biggest mistake new players make. More villagers mean faster consumption of food and water, and it tanks your authority rating if resources run low. Stick to a small population of 2–3 villagers at the start. Focus on stabilizing basic supplies first, then slowly upgrade housing to raise your population cap later on.
2. Prioritize essential infrastructure over exploration. It’s tempting to wander off and loot every corner of the map early, but that’s a losing play. Start with core builds: a water well for sustainable water, lumber camps for wood, and grain fields for steady food. Only send villagers to explore nearby zones once your basic resource chain is fully stable.
3. Handle zombie threats smartly, don’t waste resources. You don’t need firearms for small zombie groups. Use melee attacks to conserve ammo early on. Master the quick reload mechanic too—tap R once to start reloading, then hit it again when the bar hits the green zone for instant fast reloads. Save bullets for large-scale invasions and endgame fights.
