Editor's Review
Most file managers choke on archives. ZArchiver Donate doesn't. I’m unpacking rar, 7z, even deb files—no internet permission, so no privacy worries. Dark theme saves my eyes, and editing files inside archives actually works. Perfect for Android power users who need a no-nonsense archiver.
What' s new ?

Notes:
File modification in the archive it is the ability to update the file in the archive after changing it in an external program. To do this: open the file from the archive, select the application (if required), edit the file, save the changes, return to ZArchiver. You will be prompted to update the file in the archive when you return to ZArchiver. If for some reason you are not prompted to update the file, the modified file can be found on the memory card in the folder Android/ru.zdevs.zarchiver.pro/temp/.
Mini FAQ:
Q: What password?
A: The contents of some archives may be encrypted and the archive can only be opened with the password (don't use the phone password!).
Q: The program is not working correctly?
A: Send me an email with detailed description of the problem.
Q: How to compress files?
A: Select all the files you want to compress by clicking on icons (from the left of filenames). Click on the first of selected files and choose "Compress" from menu. Set desired options and press the OK button.
Q: How to extract files?
A: Click on the archive name and select suitable options ("Extract Here" or other).
zarquiver Tips
ZDevs’ ZArchiver Donate is hands down one of the best file archiver apps for Android, especially if you hate ads and need full functionality. It’s not flashy, not fancy, but it gets the job done better than most paid alternatives. I’ve been using it to zip/unzip files, handle password-protected archives, and even split large files for a week, so I’m here to save you the noob fumbles and tell you straight if it’s worth the donate price.
First off, newbies—this ain’t your basic “click and extract” app. It’s packed with features, and these 3 tips will keep you from pulling your hair out early on, no cap.
1. Stop picking random extract paths. I messed this up first try—extracted a zip file and couldn’t find it anywhere. Always choose a folder you recognize (like Downloads or a dedicated folder) and remember it. Pro tip: rename the extracted folder if you’re dealing with multiple archives; you’ll thank me later.
2. Learn the supported formats (don’t waste time). It handles almost everything—7z, zip, rar, iso, deb, you name it—but it ain’t magic. I tried to extract a random .arj file once and it failed hard. Stick to the common formats, and if you’re unsure, check the app’s help tab (it’s hidden but there).
3. Don’t sleep on password protection & split files. If you’re sharing sensitive stuff, encrypt your zips with a password—it’s super easy, just tap “Set password” when creating an archive. And for split files (those .part1, .part2 zips), select the first part and the app will do the rest; no need to extract each one separately.
