Editor's Review
Tower of God: NEW WORLD delivers a solid anime RPG experience I really enjoyed. It follows the famous webtoon with fresh exclusive story content and faithful character designs. Strategic element and position systems add depth to team battles, while shared character progress and simple loot mechanics save unnecessary grinding. It suits webtoon followers and casual RPG players well.

Tower of God: New World Beginner Guide – Top Characters & Quick Start Tips
If you’re just jumping into Tower of God: New World, you’re probably feeling a little overwhelmed. It’s a 3D real-time strategy RPG that follows Bam and his crew as they climb the Tower, and with so many characters to unlock, figuring out who to invest in first is a total headache. Trust me, I’ve been there—wasting resources on duds before realizing which heroes actually carry fights.
First off, let’s get one thing straight: this game’s all about team composition. You can’t just throw random characters together and expect to win. The meta’s shifted a bit in 2025, so even some SSRs aren’t worth your time. Below, I’m breaking down the must-have picks, the ones to avoid, and a few quick tips to get you crushing battles fast—no fluff, just straight talk.
Let’s start with the best of the best—these are the heroes you should reroll for if you can, or prioritize upgrading the second you get them:
1. [Torn Authority] White: Dude’s a beast. He uses enemy souls to crank up his damage, gets buffs nonstop, and even has invincibility skills. If you need a frontline damage dealer that never dies, this is your guy. He’s purple element, so pair him with other purple heroes if you can, but he’s strong enough to carry alone.
2. [Healing Flame] Yihwa Yeon: The best healer in the game, bar none. She heals, revives teammates (even herself), and shuts down enemies who rely on skills by draining their energy. You can’t go wrong with her—every team needs a Yihwa.
3. [Family Head] Traumerei: This UR support is broken. He summons creatures at the start of fights, debuffs enemies, and buffs your team. He dominates both PvP and PvE, and his status immunity means he never gets locked down. Total game-changer.
Now, the ones you should skip (unless you have zero other options):
Guys like [Red Wings] Amigocharz and [Bora Bora] Prince might look cool, but they’re bottom-tier. Amigocharz is too slow for fast fights, and Prince’s skills take forever to activate—you’ll be dead before he’s useful. Even [Dual Swords] Hatz, despite his critical hits, is too predictable to be effective against tough enemies.
A quick pro tip for new players: don’t sleep on A-tier heroes. [Princess] Endorsi is a solid assassin with a second life, and [Data] Khun Edahn’s lightning attacks and crowd control make him great for countering revival teams. They’re not S-tier, but they’re way better than B or C-tier and work well if you can’t get the top picks.
Also, remember: element synergy helps, but don’t force it. If you have a strong S-tier hero, stick with them even if they don’t match your team’s element. Resources are scarce early on, so focus on upgrading 1-2 top heroes instead of spreading yourself thin.
That’s the gist of it. This game’s fun once you get the hang of it, but picking the right characters from the start saves you tons of frustration. Stick to the S-tier picks, avoid the C-tier duds, and you’ll be climbing the Tower in no time.
