Editor's Review
Merging two peasants into one sword guy shouldn’t feel this strategic. Merge Legions hooked me with that simple loop—combine troops, test them in battle, then watch them die and restart. The mix of orcs, archers, and mages keeps squad building fresh. Great for puzzle fans who also enjoy light RPG combat.

ARE YOU A MERGE MASTER?
COMBINED FORCES: Your village is under attack, and to defend it you’ll need to amass an army. Start small in this tactical game by merging simple peasants to create hardened warriors, then head into battle to see if your forces are strong enough to win.
JOINED UP TACTICS: The more you merge, the stronger your soldiers become, but remember each merge requires energy and, when it comes to fighting, the number of troops in your army is just as important as the strength of each individual warrior. It takes tactical thinking to apportion your resources wisely for the best outcomes.
A MOTLEY BUT MIGHTY CREW: Your army consists not only of swordsmen, but also orcs, archers, attack insects and—as you progress through the game—mages and other mythical creatures. They can all be merged like-for-like to reach new levels of battle strength and skill.
SPOILT FOR CHOICE: As your ranks swell, you’ll be able to try out almost endless combinations of different troops to make up a winning squad. Keep soldiers in reserve for special occasions or max out a small battle-hardened team of almost invincible warriors. But remember, if they do die in a fight, you’ll have to start again from scratch.
EVERYTHING’S COMING TOGETHER: It’s not just soldiers you can merge in this game, you can also level up armor, weaponry, clothing, potions, portals and much more. If you see two of an object on the board, bring them together and find out what you get. Merging can unlock a whole host of in-game benefits, from extra currency to improved fighting stats to energy boosters that will allow you to merge even more.
KEEP ON QUESTING: Complete daily, weekly and campaign quests to earn even more rewards, with multiple ways to boost your fighting strength, better equip your squad, and expand your resources.
FEELS MEDIEVAL: As well as beautiful fantasy graphics with great character detail and engaging animation, Merge Legions boasts awesome sound design, with stirring music and realistic noises of battle that really bring the game’s medieval world to life.

Merge Legions Tips
Enough with the setup—here’s the beginner tips you actually need (trust me, I wasted hours merging the wrong units at first):
1. Stop merging every unit you get—focus on 1-2 types. I know, it’s tempting to merge everything, but spreading your resources thin will leave you with a weak, messy legion. Pick 1 or 2 soldier types (like melee or archers) and prioritize merging those. Upgrading a few strong units is way better than having a bunch of low-level cannon fodder that gets wiped out in 2 seconds.
2. Don’t skip the daily rewards—they’re a game-changer. The game gives out free gems and merge tokens every day—don’t sleep on ’em. Use gems to unlock extra merge slots (so you can upgrade faster) and save tokens for rare unit merges. Skipping these will make your progress crawl, and you’ll get stuck on easy levels way longer than you should.
3. Let battles auto-play, but check in to adjust your legion. The auto-battle feature is a lifesaver, but don’t just set it and forget it. If you’re losing a battle, pause and merge a few more units to beef up your army. Also, don’t waste energy on easy battles—save it for harder levels that give better rewards.
Now, the real talk on pros and cons. The good: it’s dead simple to play—one finger’s all you need. It runs smooth on any Android phone, even older ones, and the merge-and-battle loop is addictive (you’ll say “just one more merge” way too often). It’s free to start, no credit card needed, and the art style is clean, not cheesy.
The bad: it’s repetitive as hell—after a few hours, you’re just merging the same units and fighting the same enemies. The free version has ads that pop up mid-merge or after battles, which kills the flow. Also, late-game progress slows to a crawl unless you grind nonstop or pay for upgrades—typical for SayGames titles.
