I hate getting lost on new trails. Bikemap lets me download offline maps before I leave, then follow turn-by-turn voice nav without burning data. Filter routes by bike type – city, e-bike, MTB. Even records my ride as a GPS tracker. Perfect for cyclists who want reliable navigation without a dedicated bike computer.

Bikemap Tips
Enough with the fluff—here’s the beginner guide you actually need (trust me, I fumbled with offline maps at first):
1. Download offline maps before your ride. Don’t make the same mistake I did—if you’re heading out to areas with no cell service, download the map for that region first. Just search your route, tap the download button, and you’re good to go. No data? No problem—your GPS will still track you, and the map won’t disappear mid-ride.
2. Customize your tracking settings. You don’t need every stat cluttering your screen—pick what matters to you: speed, distance, or elevation. Go to settings and toggle off the stuff you don’t care about; it’ll make the app easier to use while you’re riding. Also, set up auto-pause so it stops tracking when you’re stopped at red lights—saves you from fudging your stats.
3. Use pre-made routes, don’t waste time planning. The app has thousands of user-created and official routes for every type of ride. Filter by difficulty, distance, or terrain (road, mountain, gravel) to find the perfect path. It’s way faster than planning your own, and you’ll discover hidden gems you’d never find on your own.
Now, the real talk on pros and cons. The good: the GPS is accurate, even in remote areas, and the offline maps are a lifesaver. It’s super easy to use—even if you’re not tech-savvy, you’ll figure it out in 5 minutes. The route library is massive, and tracking stats are clear and easy to read. It’s lightweight and doesn’t drain your battery too fast (way better than some other cycling apps).
The bad: the free version has ads that pop up after rides, which gets annoying. Some premium features (like advanced stats and ad-free use) are locked behind a paywall, which is fine, but it’s a bummer if you want all the bells and whistles for free. Also, the community features are basic—you can share rides, but not much else.
