I’ll admit, when I first heard Toca Boca was doing another Hello Kitty collab, I figured it’d be a quick cash-in. Turns out, I was wrong. This second crossover actually delivers.
The new update dropped October 7, bringing back Hello Kitty and Kuromi while finally adding Cinnamoroll, Pompompurin, and Keroppi to the mix . If you missed the first event, here’s the deal: the numbers were insane. Over 292 million in-app gifts claimed, 50 million uses of Hello Kitty items . Clearly, kids (and let’s be honest, parents) ate it up.
So what’s new this time?
The Packs
Two main additions: a Style Pack and a Furniture Pack. Both are themed around the new characters, not just Hello Kitty. Want to throw a Kuromi-style party with edgy decor? Go for it. Who’s This For
Honestly? Kids 4–10 who love roleplaying and decorating. Sanrio fans will get a kick out of seeing their favorites show up. Parents will appreciate that it’s still single-player, COPPA-compliant, and doesn’t push purchases in your face every two seconds.
One thing worth noting: the first collab had crazy engagement, and this one seems bigger. If you’re looking for a sign that Toca Boca knows what they’re doing with these IP tie-ins, that’s it.
