Every card costs elixir, and it regenerates slowly over time. If you blow all your elixir on a big push and your opponent defends it with half the cost, you’re now sitting at zero while they’ve got a full bar ready to crush you. The smart move is to let your opponent make the first move, defend efficiently, and then counterattack with whatever troops survived. It sounds simple, but you’d be surprised how many new players just spam cards the second they can afford them.

Your deck matters too, but don’t overcomplicate it early on. You don’t need some hyper-optimized meta deck with three legendaries you don’t own. What you need is a clear win condition—one card that’s going to do most of your tower damage—and a few support cards that protect it. A Giant paired with a Musketeer is a classic combo that works even in 2026. The Giant soaks up damage, the Musketeer shoots from behind.
