Editor's Review

I’ve spent weeks tending to my virtual farm in Farming Simulator 16, and it’s one of the most detailed farming sims I’ve tried on mobile. You plant, grow, and harvest 5 crops, raise cows and sheep, cut and sell timber, and drive real tractors from brands like New Holland and Case IH. It’s great for farming fans, casual sim lovers, or anyone who likes slow, rewarding open-world gameplay and managing their own operations.

Farming Simulator 16 Tips

Farming Simulator 16 Newbie Guide: Easy Tips to Start Your Farm

If you’re new to Farming Simulator 16 and feel a little lost when you first open the game, don’t worry—this guide’s got you covered. I’ve been playing this game for a while, and I’m gonna break down the most important stuff you need to know to get started, no fancy jargon, just simple tips that actually work.

First off, let’s talk about the basics: when you fire up the game, you’ll pick your mode, start a new save (or load an old one), and choose your difficulty. Once you’re in, you’ll see a field of wheat that’s ready to harvest—perfect for your first task. There’s a New Holland harvester right there, so you don’t have to mess around with unlocking stuff first.

My first tip? Don’t stress about driving the harvester perfectly. If you’re not in the mood to do all the work yourself, just hit the “hire worker” button. They’ll do the harvesting for you, but keep in mind—you gotta pay them, so don’t hire more than you need (max 6 workers, but 1 or 2 is enough for starters).

When the harvester’s bin is full, you’ll need to unload the grain into a trailer. Just back the trailer up under the harvester’s chute, and it’ll unload automatically—it’s super easy, way simpler than it looks. Pro move: check the crop prices before you sell! The prices change all the time, and you can lose a lot of money if you sell when they’re low. Green means prices are going up, red means down, blue means stable—wait for green if you can.

You’ll get two tractors at the start: a red CASE 7250pro with a tiller (for plowing after harvesting) and a green Fendt 515c with a seeder. The seeder needs to be attached—just back the tractor up to it, and it’ll connect on its own. Oh, and not all crops use the same equipment—corn, potatoes, and beets need special seeders and harvesters, so keep that in mind when you buy stuff later.

Two big struggles for new players: controlling the vehicles and finding your way around. For controls, use the right joystick to move, and don’t forget there’s an autopilot if you get tired of steering. For navigation, open the map, tap the place you wanna go, and hit “mark location”—a green light will show you the way, so you won’t get lost.

One last thing: don’t sleep on the “Help” section in settings. It explains all the icons and how to use every machine, which will save you a ton of frustration. And if you’re playing the modded version with unlimited coins, you can buy all the machines you want right away, but take time to learn the basics first—otherwise, you’ll still be confused!

That’s pretty much it. Farming Simulator 16 is all about taking it slow and learning as you go. Follow these tips, and you’ll be a pro farm owner in no time.
