Conquer Countries Newbie Guide: Quick Start Tips for Android Players
So you just downloaded Conquer Countries, fired it up, and now you’re staring at a screen full of numbers and decisions wondering where to even start. Don’t sweat it—I’ve been there. This game looks simple on the surface, but there’s a little more going on than just picking dialogue options. You’re basically running a country now, which sounds intense, but once you get the rhythm down, it’s actually pretty chill.
First thing you need to know: this is a decision-based strategy game where every choice you make changes something . You’ll get pop-ups asking how to handle immigration, whether to cozy up to neighboring regions or tell them to kick rocks, stuff like that. There’s no “right” answer most of the time—it’s about what you want your country to look like. Want a booming economy? Pick trade-friendly policies. Want happy citizens? Maybe don’t tax them into poverty.
The top-left corner of your screen is where the real action is. You’ve got four numbers there: happiness, population, money, and education . Ignore them at your own risk. If happiness drops too low, your people might revolt. If you run out of cash, you can’t build anything or fund your military. Check these every few minutes like you’re glancing at your car’s dashboard—it’ll save you from nasty surprises.
Here’s where most new players mess up: they try to do everything at once. Build all the towns, upgrade everything, fight everyone. Slow down. Start by getting one or two towns running smoothly before you expand. Each new territory gives you more resources, but if you spread yourself too thin, you’ll just have a bunch of empty buildings doing nothing . I learned this the hard way after building five towns in ten minutes and realizing I couldn’t afford to staff any of them.
Combat is mostly automatic, but don’t just hit “attack” and walk away. You still need to think about unit positioning and what you’re sending in. Different units counter each other—spamming the same type over and over will get you wrecked once you face someone who knows what they’re doing . Mix it up. Keep an eye on how many soldiers the enemy has in their territory before you commit. If they’ve got a full stack and you’re rolling in with half that, maybe wait.
One thing the game doesn’t tell you upfront: sometimes the best move is doing nothing. If you don’t have a clear shot at taking someone’s land, just hold position and build up your economy instead. This isn’t a sprint—it’s more like a slow crawl where you pick your moments .
Ads are a thing, and honestly they can get annoying. There’s an option to remove them in the store, but heads up—it’s not cheap. I’ve seen people say it runs around $30 for the premium ad-free experience . If you’re just trying the game out, deal with the ads for a bit and see if you like it first. The season pass is another option if you want extra resources fast, but you can totally play without spending anything.
Bottom line: check those four stats in the corner, make decisions that fit your play style, build up one town at a time, and don’t rush into fights you can’t win. Give it a couple days and you’ll be running things like a pro.
